After meeting the family (including their five year old Vizsla), Babe went for a visit to see if it was a good fit for everyone. She is still there. Thank you.

     After loving our Golden a Retriever, Buddy Boy, for 17 wonderful years, he passed away. We were all heartbroken. It took a long time for us to consider opening our home and hearts to another dog. The kids were the first to start the discussion. They missed the love and the security they had felt from Buddy. I was next to realize that my heart would forever be missing a piece because of Buddy, but that the sadness could only be remedied by another fur baby and that Buddy would want us to rescue. I added my email to this site and started reviewing the notifications, soon this guy Timmy popped up! He's perfect I said and soon my husband was on board and we were on our way to meet him in Williamstown. It was a lovely meeting with Timmy and his sweet, loving family. We chatted, tried to bind a bit and get to know Timmy. We knew before we left that we were a match and arranged for Timmy and his family to come to our home. It's been an adjustment, but he's doing great! We've all bonded nicely and those bonds are strengthened every day! Rescue Me is wonderful!

     Murphy is a swell dog with many sterling qualities, but my back and the wife's hip, slowed us down taking the best care of her. Within an hour after posting on Rescue Me, an experienced couple called. They drove 500 miles to get our 'swell gal.' Now she is going to have a bigger yard to explore and lots of new things to smell and see. She will be 'the only furkid' and do very well, I am totally confident.      Thanks, Rescue Me. For the past twenty-seven years I have been 'owned' by three Vizslas! I saw the rescue post for Knute last Thursday and contacted the owner immediately. We spoke several times that day and decided to meet halfway between our homes. I brought my current adopted Vizsla/Chocolate Lab mix, Bella, with me and it was an instant liking between the two. We all decided it would be a good home for Knute. We drove home and it's been two days since Knute came to our home. He's a sweet and loving dog. He has become a 'Velcro dog' and we love him. Bella and I look forward to many years of fun, play and travel with our new housemate Knute. Thank you Jim and Nancy for allowing me to take Knute into our home.

He was adopted on Sunday into a new home with Susan (his new mom) and Bella (his new sister, another Vizsla). We feel very secure in our decision of Knute's new family and feel Rescue Me made this very hard decision a smooth process.

     I am so glad that I found Rescue Me. After calls and emails from around the country, we found Harlie an awesome forever home. She has a large fenced yard and a doggie door that she can come and go as she pleases. She also gets to go running and skiing with her new family.      This site was so helpful. We posted her profile and picture and, within a couple of days, had potential adopters. One stood out because they had owned Vizslas before and this is what they were looking for. She ended up with a loving retired couple who own 60 acres and two ponds. A dog's perfect home. We feel so fortunate for this site because we know we did the best thing for her. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     I find myself working way too many hours, and I'm starting to get involved in some church activities which keeps me away from home even more. I have a wonderful Vizsla who is bright and active. My lifestyle has been leaving her at home alone more and more, and although she has access to the outside this just is not fair to a six year old Vizsla. I came upon Rescue Me! and read some of the success stories. I thought hard and prayed about it for weeks before posting one night before bed. In the morning my mailbox was full. One stood out. The family had Vizslas previously, lost one to old age, and another to a heart tumor. I spoke with their veterinarian. We've exchanged pictures, and I feel good about this family. I meet them next week when the whole family will drive 300 miles to meet their newest family member. It is bitter sweet for me. I've had Rosie Posie since she was a pup, picked her out at two days old. She's been a wonderful companion and is a fabulous well behaved healthy girl. She will get the attention exercise and love she deserves from this family, and I thank God for this site and for letting Rosie Posie meet her new family.

     After posting Jack, I was amazed by the number of responses I received. Four in the first three hours, and one more shortly thereafter. I found him on a Monday, posted him on a Thursday, and by Saturday he was adopted by a wonderful family who'd contacted me through Rescue Me! Their beloved Vizsla had passed away last year. Jack is a wonderful dog and I am so happy this website made all of the above possible.

     We were at first discouraged... due to our Vizsla's age. However, we got a call from a lady who lived 150 miles away. We did a trial visit... She fell in love with Maggie and asked if I was going to leave here there that day! I 'bargained' for a couple days to say goodbye to our beloved Mags, and then dropped her off later that week. Maggie now has a choice of five doggy beds, a fenced-in yard, doggy door out the back and, I'm sure, total spoilage. Huge success... Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Jeff, I had actually rescued Chief and we had some life circumstances that led me to post him on the website for his best interest. I have never given up a pet...but as a pet lover I always try to do the best thing for our pets. Fortunately, our circumstances changed and we were able to keep him but I was amazed at how many people responded to our post. It gave me a great amount of peace knowing that dogs who have loving families that undergo unforeseen circumstances have a resource to make sure these wonderful pets have suitable homes. I look forward to sharing many more runs and hikes with my 'Beefie boy' as we call him. I did meet many wonderful people through my journey on this web site when I thought I was going to have to make the difficult decision to find him a new home.      Rescue Me! was an absolutely incredibly website and has put my fears and concerns about putting our dog up for adoption at ease. We found Lola wandering the streets of San Angelo, Texas in August of 2011 and while we had the best of intentions for her when we brought her home, we continued to fall short as pet parents. We are a military family and traveling is part of the deal and we don't always get to pick where we go and what kind of a house we live in so at the end of the day we weren't giving Lola everything she needed and deserved. I love her very much and was very concerned about finding the right home and family for her. But thanks to this website, my husband and I were able to find her a loving, caring home without worrying and a huge weight has been lifted off of our shoulders. It was especially comforting to know that the people utilizing this website were genuinely concerned for the welfare of the animals that are up for adoption. I can't thank the Rescue Me! organization enough for helping us find Lola the family she has always deserved.

     Bella was adopted on Saturday by a wonderful family from Marietta, GA. The drove the 3 hours to come and meet her. Bella now thinks she is in 'Doggie Heaven' she is living in the house and sleeping with the children in their bed. The family had a Vizsla for 13 years before it had to be put to sleep. Really nice caring, Vizsla loving family. We had email from California, Texas and Georgia, but this was the right family for Bella. Ronald

     Baron was adopted. I was impressed with the quality homes I had to choose from for our dog. It's been and still is incredibly difficult to let him go, it makes it a little easier knowing he went to another Vizsla family. We have a new baby, and weren't able to give our 'furry' Baby the time and attention he deserves. It's been comforting to know that other families are willing to treat their dogs like more than just a dog, but to treat them as family.

     Jeff- All 3 of my little red guys now have wonderful homes, one in Baton Rouge, LA, one to Fort Walton Beach, FL today, and last but not least, number 3 is moving a little north of Atlanta the weekend after Labor Day! I probably could have adopted out 150-200 puppies if I had that many. I met many wonderful people, and 2 of the 3 puppies are going to prior Vizsla owners. The couple who adopted number 2 are runners, so he'll get plenty of exercise! The other 2 are going to hunters who will spend a lot of time with them during bird season. All 3 of them are going to be 'house pets' and companions for their new owners! Thank you for the Rescue Me! site - it was a great help finding good homes for my babies! Debbie Slocum
