Hi, I'm Ellie a wonderfully sweet and loving Vizsla bird dog mix of 6 months. I just arrived today and loving being on 2 acres where I can play and socialize with 18 dogs and puppies and 8 kiddos! I'm doing great.I'm lean, have green eyes and a gorgeous chestnut coat and I sat very nicely through my bath because my rescue mom sang to me! I will get spayed and have all my shots 3/29 but can preadopted. Can't wait to meet you~Love, Ellie

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-23-00054Chavez (male)
Chavez is a lovable, real people-pack dog. Hunting trained, great with kids of all ages. Very protective of his 'pack', but once a stranger is welcomed by his people, he's very good with anyone. Has some separation anxiety issues, would probably do very well living with 2nd dog in family. GREAT work companion -- used to going to construction sites with 'Dad.' Chavez is a loyal companion and loves love!

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-19-00181Jack (male)
Jack was raised as a hunting dog and still has a strong hunting instinct. He is a very loyal companion and typically forms a strong bond to the most alpha owner. He needs to know the hierarchy of the home and will test until he finds his place. He is extremely well trained and very obedient. He does not like loud sounds or sudden movements and so does not do well with kids. He is good with all adults but seems to prefer men. He cannot be left safely around cats, opossums, squirrels, rabbits, ducks, chickens, etc. because he views them as prey. He may be an accomplished hunter, but he will also steal your fuzziest blankets and try to cuddle with you all night long. Sometimes he even tries to be big spoon! He has been well cared for and is up to date on all vaccinations except rabies. It just expired. He will also need his next dose of heartworm medication April 4. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-13-00161Umby (female)
Hi there people! My name is Umby! Mom says I have to stop playing and tell you a little about myself. I'll be quick because there's toys that need squeaking!! My favorite thing to do is play actually. Balls, squeakies, ropes, oh my!! I just love to bounce around the house and yard with my foster brother. I guess you could say I'm loving life now! When momma first found me at this scary she lter I had a really bad skin issue. It's called mange and it made me so itchy and miserable. Not anymore! I'm about the happiest little girl you'll ever meet! I'm doing so well on my potty training, I almost never have an accident anymore! I sleep through the night with my foster brother, but mom says I'd be great in your bed too! I'm ready for new toys in my new forever home, is that yours?! Umby is a female 13 pound vizsla/lab mix. We estimate she was born on 12/15/16. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. Please LIKE and share our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/k9angelsrescue. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-11-00161Bubba (male)
Bubba is a terrific and gentle dog. He is wonderful with kids (even very small), cats and most dogs. Only larger, male dogs are an issue with him, predominantly on leash. He's healthy and loving. I am re-homing due to hectic travel schedule and he deserves a more constistent home.

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-16-00391Scarlett (female)
Scarlett is one of those dogs who keeps getting overlooked, even though she is a wonderful catch. We think Scarlett is a mix of breeds possibly Labrador and Vizsla. She was born around February 11, 2012 and she weighs approximately 60 pounds. She's a beautiful red brindle color. Scarlett has a lot of energy and loves to run around in the yard at the boarding facility where she bunks. She really doesn't care for being in a crate and you don't have to worry about putting her in one because she is very clean and well potty-trained. If you need a running or hiking partner then Scarlett is for you! If you give her a treat she will take it very gently from your hand. She is very smart and knows several commands, chases after toys that you throw, hops like a bunny when she gets excited, and likes to play keep-away. Scarlett is a little dog selective but she likes most dogs. She kisses the pig and ignores the cat at the facility where she is boarding. As far as her human companions, she is affectionate with but not clingy. She has not spent time around children. She is up to date with her vaccines, spayed and microchipped. **Scarlett is a member of our Continuing Care program which means her adoption fee is waived for an approved applicant. In addition we offer a reimbursement of $250 annually for veterinary expenses, for up to 5 years after the adoption date. **This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas and is only available for adoption locally. We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters. Please apply to adopt or foster online at www.corridorrescue.org. Direct inquiries to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-14-00401Parker (female)
Parker is a beautiful and house trained pointer. I found her at the shelter last week and she needed a home or would be euthanized the following day. I brought her home but don't have the space for her and my other animals. She is very shy and scared but has really come out of her shell in the last couple of days. She will make someone a wonderful companion. She knows how to heal and seems intelligent.

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-22-00449Rufus (male)
Rufus is an awesome dog! He is a senior guy of 7 or 8. He enjoys walks, lots of belly rubs, and is just a gentle lab mix. Sadly, due to retina disease , he is blind. As with most dogs, this is just how it is - not a disability. We have him using a halo harness which is fabulous. It is easy to put on him and it keeps him from running into things when he is out in the yard. Rufus is easy going and looking for a calm wonderful home that will give him lots of love and attention. He does request a home with no cats. Our adoption team will want to make sure your home is appropriate for a blind dog, but Rufus is just looking for love and attention. 65 lbs. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Vizsla in Texas|
Vizsla Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Vizsla is an elegantly proportioned hunting dog. Vizslas are affectionate family companions and are wonderful with active children. Vizsla usually get along well with other dogs and can be socialized to get along with cats, but have an instinct to hunt smaller animals such as gerbils or rabbits. Vizslas may become nervous if not thoroughly socialized and given plenty of exercise and attention. Vizslas need a good sized yard.
