Rescue Me ID: 16-10-16-00391Scarlett (female)
Scarlett is one of those dogs who keeps getting overlooked, even though she is a wonderful catch. We think Scarlett is a mix of breeds possibly Labrador and Vizsla. She was born around February 11, 2012 and she weighs approximately 60 pounds. She's a beautiful red brindle color. Scarlett has a lot of energy and loves to run around in the yard at the boarding facility where she bunks. She really doesn't care for being in a crate and you don't have to worry about putting her in one because she is very clean and well potty-trained. If you need a running or hiking partner then Scarlett is for you! If you give her a treat she will take it very gently from your hand. She is very smart and knows several commands, chases after toys that you throw, hops like a bunny when she gets excited, and likes to play keep-away. Scarlett is a little dog selective but she likes most dogs. She kisses the pig and ignores the cat at the facility where she is boarding. As far as her human companions, she is affectionate with but not clingy. She has not spent time around children. She is up to date with her vaccines, spayed and microchipped. **Scarlett is a member of our Continuing Care program which means her adoption fee is waived for an approved applicant. In addition we offer a reimbursement of $250 annually for veterinary expenses, for up to 5 years after the adoption date. **This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75, and several locations in the northeastern US for $175. We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters. Please apply to adopt or foster online at www.corridorrescue.org. Direct inquiries to: email@example.com. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-14-00401Parker (female)
Parker is a beautiful and house trained pointer. I found her at the shelter last week and she needed a home or would be euthanized the following day. I brought her home but don't have the space for her and my other animals. She is very shy and scared but has really come out of her shell in the last couple of days. She will make someone a wonderful companion. She knows how to heal and seems intelligent.

Animal ID: PH -pe feSissy (female)
Hello there! My name is Sissy, and I am a drop-dead gorgeous 50-pound red-haired lass who was born in July 2015. I'm loving, friendly, and sweeter than sweet can be! No DNA testing has been done on me, but my family thinks I've got some Labrador Retriever in me, and my deep auburn tresses suggest that I may have some Irish Setter or perhaps Vizsla blood coursing through my veins. Whatever I am, I don't shed very much, which is a blessing! I'm a happy-happy, people-loving girl who gives kisses, loves to snuggle, and enjoys receiving belly rubs. I'm really still somewhat of a pup, so I'm playful and full of energy. I need a family with an outdoorsy, active lifestyle. If you like to hike or jog, I'll be your perfect, loyal companion. I'm a little like Linus in that I love my 'blankies,' except that Linus doesn't shred his like I do with mine! True confessions -- I'm working on my penchant for digging and my distaste for baths and water. When alone, I like to entertain myself with my cherished bones and toys. I'm crate-trained and housebroken. In fact, I will go to the door and tell you 'Let me out!' My life didn't start out so great as I was probably weaned too soon and, on top of that, the family in my first home neglected me. Thank heavens I was rescued by my current family when I was just 10 weeks old. Unfortunately, previous early puppyhood scars make me suffer from separation anxiety. I just adore my humans, so I get unsettled and anxious when they are not near me, when I'm separated from them by a doggie gate, or when I have to sleep alone at night. I guess you're wondering by now why my loving family is trying to find a wonderful new home for me. Well, you see, I moved into their home a year or so ago, and they already had two dogs who object to my presence as an intruder. They just don't accept me into their family and continuously fuss and fight me. It's not pretty because they can be pretty mean, and it doesn't help that I'm an alpha dog who stands up for myself. So as much as my current family loves me, they realize that, after a year of trying to make it work, sharing my home with snobby canines is not in my best interests. So they are committed to finding me a new forever-and-ever home. Plus I need a loving, patient, but firm and dominant human hand to give me the kind of training that I need to settle my separation issues. I have not been around small children, so my current parents feel that it's best for me not to be in a home with little ones yet -- at least for awhile until I can get established, stabilized, and stress-free. However, they do believe that -- down the road -- with much love, training and patience, I will be the best forever friend of a little one or younger family member. Well, that's my story and that's what I need. Do you think that you can open up your heart and home to me? I promise to wet your face with kisses if you want to be the 'bubba' to this one, pretty, redheaded 'sissy.' Sissy is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Sissy, and we can arrange for you to meet her. A home visit will be mandatory. To make the process more efficient, download, print, and fill out the adoption application: http://www.bustersfriends.org/dogadoptionapplication.shtml Note: Sissy is posted as a courtesy to an independent rescuer or owner in hopes that networking through Buster's Friends' website postings will find a wonderful lifetime home for her. Buster's Friends is committed to reducing the number of animals who are surrendered to shelters and to assuring that fewer animals face the possibility of euthanasia. Courtesy postings for the community is one way that we can achieve this by providing a platform in which animals like Sissy remain safe while still being widely seen until she is placed in a permanent home. Disclaimer: Whereas Sissy has received the routine vetting that all Buster's Friends animals get to prepare them for adoption, she has never been in the care of Buster's Friends. We can therefore not evaluate her behavior or medical status and not be liable for any damages or injury which she may cause. If Sissy needs to be returned, she will go back to the home of her independent rescuer or owner. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-22-00449Rufus (male)
Rufus is an awesome dog! He is a senior guy of 7 or 8. He enjoys walks, lots of belly rubs, and is just a gentle lab mix. Sadly, due to retina disease , he is blind. As with most dogs, this is just how it is - not a disability. We have him using a halo harness which is fabulous. It is easy to put on him and it keeps him from running into things when he is out in the yard. Rufus is easy going and looking for a calm wonderful home that will give him lots of love and attention. He does request a home with no cats. Our adoption team will want to make sure your home is appropriate for a blind dog, but Rufus is just looking for love and attention. 65 lbs. |Rescue Me ID: 16-06-20-00573Violet (female)|
Violet is a very playful, high energy Lab mix who loves kids and all dogs! She was born in February 2016. We are currently working on all puppy basics with her like potty training, crate training, walking on a leash, and basic commands. She is very attached to her person and needs a home that will provide consistent training to ensure that she grows to become a well-behaved adult dog. Violet has 4 foster brothers and sisters and definitely enjoys playing and cuddling with them, she's naturally very submissive and enjoys having playmates around. Looking to rehome 2 unregistered Vizsla brothers that have been together since birth. Keen hunting instincts. Unable to find the time to train them. Terrific watch dogs -- they hear and smell everything! Would like to keep them together but would consider separation for right owner.

Vizsla Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Vizsla is an elegantly proportioned hunting dog. Vizslas are affectionate family companions and are wonderful with active children. Vizsla usually get along well with other dogs and can be socialized to get along with cats, but have an instinct to hunt smaller animals such as gerbils or rabbits. Vizslas may become nervous if not thoroughly socialized and given plenty of exercise and attention. Vizslas need a good sized yard.
