Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hey Ya'll, I'm Romeo! I am a lover and not a fighter. I just want someone to please and be treated the same way in return. I used to live in a backyard with 3 other dogs attached to a chain and not being treated very nicely. But I don't hold my past against anyone! I love all people and I would really love to have my own warm bed :) I get along great with other dogs but I have never met a kitty so I am not sure how I feel about felines. Please contact LAP if you can provide a loving, safe home for Romeo. You will not be disappointed! If you are interested in providing a loving home to this pet please complete the L.A.P. application ...     Meet Kara, rescued from Durant, OK. At around 12 months old, Kara is bright, eager to please, and already 'sitting' and 'laying down' on command (with treats, of course). Kara is a mixed breed dog who is crate- and house-trained. About 50 pounds and working on leash training, she is very happy to play with the other dogs in her foster home. She seems interested in cats, but doesn't chase the one at her foster home. Kara loves to 'talk' with the people around her--it sounds just like a conversation sometimes. :) Please make Kara's wishes come true and help DFW Pup Patrol find her perfect forever family! Vizsla Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Betty is a true survivor! Sole heiress to the throne in a small Turkish Province (the Queen was a 'dog lady'), Betty was cast out of her Royal Family because she fell in love with a peasant hound and refused to abandon him, at all costs! As part of her banishment she was fashioned with a very tight metal cable around her neck and tied by rope from her neck to a remote cactus, deep in West Texas somewhere. She managed to survive by eating the cactus until she finally ate it down below the rope that held her captive. But the damage was done%BD'%BD|she grew up tied to that cactus and her adult neck was now much bigger around than when the ... (Read More)cable & rope were tied on. Both had become nooses, cutting into her skin & leaving open wounds. When I found her she was dragging both, near starved to death and with a look of fear and concern in her eyes that would make anyone stop to help. She was so happy when I removed them that she ran as fast as she could in big circles and has been my best buddy every since! She's a very sweet girl who loves her people deeply and will do anything for you. She wants nothing more than to make you happy and she goes about doing it with such contagious joy that it makes you stop & smile. She loves to play and is a pretty goofy girl, jumping and circling as if she's putting on a show for you. (Less)

Who is Curious George? Well, he's everyone's favorite monkey! Who am I? Well, I'm everyone's favorite puppy! My rescuers at Red Collar named me Curious George as they say I look inquisitive all the time. They love my soft wrinkles and my silky ears. They tell me my wrinkles make me look worried sometimes. Well, the only thing I'm worried about it finding a forever home! I'm about 10 months old and I'm sweet, gentle and playful. I walk very well on a leash, impressive really as I'm still a young dog. I'm crate trained and house trained. I currently weigh about 40 pounds but I may grow a little bit more. I have the most beautiful golden green ... (Read More)eyes.     Loki is a beautiful year-old 50lb Vizsla/Husky mix friendly with other dogs. Loki's people became homeless and his best friend, an elderly Rottie, went to another rescue. Loki was heartbroken but stayed safe sby being kept temporarily here or there but he needed a stable situation, so AFFT stepped in to assist with that and we need your help! Animal ID: DJH JackJack (male)

Vizsla Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jack is one of four pups (two boys, two girls) born on April 19th to a purebred Great Pyrenees who had celebrated Valentine's Day with a very handsome dog having a long nose, short red hair and amber eyes. We're not sure what he was because no one besides the GP saw him. But the pups are gorgeous! Each one has 'DJH' as the first 'family ID' of his or her name. 5-5-13 UPDATE: Today we took all four 'DHL' pups [plus four more big pups] to Spring Fling in Gainesville's beautiful Leonard Park. We combined two panel pens for confining these guys. Then the crowds arrived. To our joy and amazement, these pups were WONDERFUL with children! They'd ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Vizsla in Texas
Vizsla Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Vizsla is an elegantly proportioned hunting dog. Vizslas are affectionate family companions and are wonderful with active children. Vizsla usually get along well with other dogs and can be socialized to get along with cats, but have an instinct to hunt smaller animals such as gerbils or rabbits. Vizslas may become nervous if not thoroughly socialized and given plenty of exercise and attention. Vizslas need a good sized yard.
